Dominique Mwepu was identified this week as the pedestrian who was struck and killed on Monday night by the driver of a Honda near the intersection of Frederick Road and High Point Drive.

Mwepu was treated at the scene for life-threatening injuries, and later pronounced dead.

The crash was reported around 8 p.m. on Sept. 30.

"Domnique leaves behind his wife Mireille and son Joshua," organizers of a fundraiser for his loved ones said. "Domnique was well loved by his family community and his tragic passing leaves a gaping hole in all of our lives."
